Project Description

This animation was produced by HopSkip for BBC Teach as part of a series aimed at 7-11 year olds on the topic of Ancient Egypt.

This video gives pupils an understanding of the society and culture of Ancient Egypt and helps them to understand some of the achievements of this ancient civilisation. It begins by introducing an Ancient Egyptian artefact called the ‘Deben’, a weight which was used to ensure fair and comparable trade of goods. The Deben acts as an introduction to a snapshot of Ancient Egyptian society and culture as a whole.

Through the animation, pupils will gain an overview of the structure of Ancient Egyptian society and the various roles and experiences of different people in that society.
